The happenings "inside" the Wisconsin State Treasury and across the street at the State Capitol

Money for Roads and Parks

As a Commissioner on the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands, I, along with Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and Secretary of State Doug LaFollette, get to help Wisconsin communities by providing loans via the State Trust Fund Loan Program.

Just yesterday, we approved $1.4 million to be loaned to the Village of Dousman in Waukesha County and the Town of Greenville in Outagamie County.

Dousman will use $400,000 to finance road work and a new park entrance. Greenville will use $1,000,000 to finance road construction.

Each year, I send around $25 to $30 million to the Common School Trust Fund. This is interest on the more than $400 Million in unclaimed property I oversee. That money is then used to by new books for all public school libraries in the state!
